Be My Valentine!
To My Dearest Self,
I don't even know where to begin. Never have I met anyone quite like you and I know deep down, I never will. You are unique and special and I love you for it. I love you for all your "flaws" I love you for your big heart and deep desire to do the best you can in everything you do. The longer we are together, the deeper my love and admiration for you.
You're the only one I want to share my life with.
It is YOU that has made me who I am today.
I know that I can easily get swept up in the daily fast-paced life that I live. I know that I have a tendency to put your needs last, and I know that I often do not listen to your requests to live a healthier, happier and more easeful life. I know that you have been patient, and have put up with my many tricks, tactics, and excuses to keep you from really living into your fullest potential- for that, I am so sorry.
I know I often forsake you for others and again, I am sorry. When I look at you, deep down, my heart always wants the very best life has to offer you, even when I don't give you that, for reasons I don't always understand.
My promise to you is to practice putting you FIRST. I promise to listen more to your deepest needs, dreams, and desires and honor them. I promise to work on being a better friend to you and accepting you as not being "perfect". I promise to be by your side through the good times and the challenging times and not be so hard on you.
I promise to remind you on a daily basis that you are ENOUGH. You are more than enough!
For you, I am most grateful. My life would be nothing without you.
Most of us are living in routines and patterns where we have little time for ourselves. We're so busy just keeping up with the fast pace of our modern day lives (careers, kids, family, activities, travel, technology...) Most people are depleted on some or many levels- physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. It's in the water of our culture. We're wearing ourselves down by trying to be the "perfect" wife, mother, boss, artists, employee, member of society...you fill in the blank. It's putting us off balance and harmony, which eventually leads to auto-immune disorders and disease.
Let's put on the brakes, press pause, slow down and BREATHE! LAUGH! OBSERVE! and GIVE OURSELVES SOME LOVE this Valentine's day.
Here are a few ways to begin:
1. Eat right, not too much, and keep it warm in the winter.
2. Be grateful.
3. Meditate- Check out my recent blog
4. Give yourself a 5-minute massage- with essential oil.
5. Get up and move your body- stretch, dance, play, go for a walk.
6. Light warm candles to light your heart
7. Enjoy a Chocolate Lovers Avocado Mousse or Salted Caramel Cookie Dough Smoothie.
8. Wrap your arms around yourself!
